Located to the north of the island, in the municipality of San Cristóbal de La Laguna, the airport is located at only 10 kilometers from the capital (Santa Cruz de Tenerife). The traffic is fundamentally of a regular national type and, within it, about 48 percent of the flights are connections with the rest of the islands of the archipelago: Gran Canaria, La Palma, Lanzarote, Fuerteventura, El Hierro and La Gomera. It also links through regular domestic traffic with other airports in the rest of Spain. Casa de los Balcones sells typical Canarian food products such as cheeses and sweets, as well as handicrafts, pottery and Canarian souvenirs. They also sell jewelry accessories, books, travel guides, maps and cigars. There are Relay stores on two locations, selling press, magazines, books, snacks, electronics, toys, tobacco products and travel accessories. And if you have the time, there are fashion brands stores where you can do some shopping before your flight.
If you are hungry, Panaria sells artisan bread, traditional pastries, gourmet snacks and tasty, healthy salads. For the coffee lovers, 100% Arabian coffee, with natural roasts and no added sugars is available here. Café and Tapas serves a selection of the best reinvented tapas, but without losing the Spanish essence. The wide range of products allow you to enjoy good food and drinks from early in the morning until dinner time. Pejeverde is a typical restaurant with table service where the visitor can enjoy a wide selection of typical Canarian dishes in a family environment. And for those looking for some fast food, do note that there’s also a Burger King as a food option at this airport.
This airport closes nightly, from 11:30 PM until 6:00 AM, so overnight stays are not possible. For uninterrupted sleep, there are hotels nearby.Tenerife South Airport has ATMs, a bank, conference and meeting rooms, public phones and pharmacies, among other things. Free unlimited Wi-Fi is available at Tenerife North Airport, just connect to the “kubiwireless” network. This airport offers all needed facilities for people with reduced mobility, such as ramps and specifically adapted bathrooms. For any additional assistance, you’d need to arrange this service prior to your airport arrival.
Ground Transportation
To travel to and from Tenerife North Airport, you may use bus lines 102, 107, 108 and 343 of the interurban transport company in Tenerife (Titsa). There are trips approximately every 30 minutes, and the departures from the airport occur on the Arrivals floor. Line 102 connects the airport to the capital (Santa Cruz) and the north of the island. Lines 107 and 108 connect the airport to the capital, and other large cities on the island, such as La Laguna, La Orotava, Garachico or San Juan de la Rambla (this city only has line 108). Line 343 connects Tenerife North Airport and Tenerife South Airport, every day, in just 50 minutes.
