Cultural attractions
De Haan is a place of several cultural events every year. Of these events different folklore festivals bring the past back to the visitors. The Vosseslag festival is held for the memory of Mong De Vos, who was burned at the stake.
The Giants Procession conjures up the memory of two giants, Louw and Wanne.

De Haan has a very eventful musical summer every year featuring jazz, pop and rock bands. If the weather allows it, the concerts are open stage with the view of the sea in the background.

Spring exhibitions show various pieces of visual fine arts from varioous countries, while in summer local artists display their works of art.

The town has an interesting and unique architecture with its irregular streets. A strict policy preserved the landscape of the towncentre by forbidding the construction of high buildings. This gives the town a very specific and graceful view and atmosphere in Belle Époque style.
