Notre Dame Cathedral
Tournai cathedral is one of the most renowned and beautiful Medieval churches in the Christian world. The Cathedral was built in Romanesque and early Gothic style in the 12th and 13th centuries. The silver and copper Shrine of Our Lady is famous throughout the world, and can be seen in the Treasury museum of the Cathedral. This piece had got its form as known today in the early 13th century.
 
The Belfry
This is the oldest one in Belgium, listed among the UNESCO world heritage sites. The belfry reveals very much information about the role and structure of belfries around the country. This edifice is 72 ms high, and offer a breathtaking view.
 
Museum of Fine Arts
This is a building of great artistic value since it contains many-many sculptures and paintings ranging from primitive painters to contemporary masters, among whom are Campin, Roger Van der Weyden (born in Tournai), Brueghel, Rubens, Jordaens, Watteau, & Van Gogh. Two masterpieces of Manet can also be seen here.
 
The Castle of Beloeil
The castle has been possessed by the Princes de Ligne since the 14th century. It also has an amazing collection of artistic pieces. Paintings of the collection date from the 15th to 19th centuries. The castle’s library has more than 20,000 books and a large French-style garden around it.
 
Museum of Tapestry and Textile Arts
This is a relatively new museum that has not only an exhibits works of tapestry but visitors can also see how tapestry weavers make tapestries or restore them. There is also a textile art research center.
 
Amusement
The International Folklore Festival is held in late September or early October every year, and is well attended. In January, you can also enjoy the new RAMDAM film festival (since 2011). In French it is called "le festival du film qui dérange" (disturbing film festival) due to the shocking topics of fictions, documentaries and retrospectives shown here.
 
The Tournai's carnival is held in late February, early March. Visitors can have great fun here for three days wearing weird disguises, drinking beer etc.
